Provide critical care expertise as a Registered Nurse in an intensive care unit specializing in neuro and trauma patients. This contract position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality nursing care in a 30-bed ICU equipped with advanced technology, including Lenet beds and GE monitors. The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1 under typical conditions, with flexibility needed during overflow scenarios. This role supports a dedicated team of 57 staff members and operates with an electronic medical records system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care focusing on neuro and trauma patient populations
- Perform specialized procedures such as rapid intubation, chest tube management, and external ventricular drain (EVD) care
- Collaborate effectively with nursing colleagues and other healthcare professionals to uphold excellent patient outcomes
- Adapt to dynamic patient acuity and potentially change assignments mid-shift as needed
- Utilize hospital EMR systems accurately for documentation and communication
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license with critical care experience
- Skills in neuro and trauma nursing essential; candidates lacking these will not be considered
- Neuro certification preferred for prioritization
- Ability to handle high-acuity patients and flexible scheduling
Schedule:
- Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
