Carpenter & General Maintenance Technician
The Greenhouse Apartments | Back Bay, Boston
The Greenhouse, a high-rise apartment community located in Boston’s Back Bay, is seeking a dependable and experienced Carpenter & General Maintenance Technician to join our on-site maintenance team.
This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in their work, enjoys caring for a well-maintained building, and brings strong communication and customer service skills to every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Carpentry

Perform carpentry repairs and installations in apartment homes and common areas

Frame, hang, and repair drywall

Install and repair doors, trim, cabinets, flooring, baseboards, and hardware

Complete minor structural repairs as needed

Maintain clean, safe job sites and follow all safety procedures

Work closely with the maintenance and property management teams

Complete work orders and apartment turnover projects efficiently and on time
General Maintenance

Prepare vacant apartments for new residents (“make-readies”)

Respond to daily maintenance requests from residents and staff

Perform routine and preventative maintenance in apartments and common areas

Complete minor repairs related to plumbing, electrical, heating systems, and carpentry

Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service at all times
What We’re Looking For

Strong working knowledge of apartment maintenance and turnovers

Experience with carpentry, plumbing repairs, basic electrical, and heating systems

Reliable, detail-oriented, and resident-focused

Team player with a positive attitude

Pay: $27–$30 per hour, based on experience

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with overtime as required
