Job DescriptionGrowing Poughkeepsie medical facility is hiring an Insurance Authorization Coordinator to support the busy growing practice.
This is a long term contract opportunity offering growth.
- Confirm patient insurance coverage and eligibility for specific services.
- Initiate and complete the prior authorization process with insurance companies for procedures, medications, or other treatments.
- Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, provide updates on authorization status and resolving any related issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all authorization requests, approvals, denials, and related communications.
High School Diploma
Professional knowledge of revenue cycle process
Determine payer authorization requirements for professional services.
Effective use of CPT and ICD 10 cardiology codes
Must conform to all applicable HIPAA, Billing Compliance and safety policies and guidelines.
Proficient in auth case management
Comprehensive knowledge of third-party insurance billing policies and procedures and previous billing experience required.
Excellent communication, multitask, research skills and organizational skills.
