A day in this role

Picture this: dawn over Loxahatchee, FL. You arrive on site and plug into the outage command rhythm. You synchronize plans with outage leadership, walk down job scopes with contractors, and align with engineers on drawings and timelines. As work unfolds across the plantfrom turbines and boilers to piping and auxiliary systemsyou orchestrate mechanical, electrical, and I&C activities, keep rigorous records of progress and changes, and champion safety and quality at every turn.

What youll tackle

  • Coordinate daily with outage management, contractors, and engineering teams to deliver scheduled and emergent work.
  • Validate work scopes, drawings, and timelines to ensure alignment on requirements and execution plans.
  • Direct contractors performing mechanical, electrical, and structural tasks on turbines, boilers, HRSG, piping, and balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Capture accurate logbooks: completions, delays, variances, and field modifications.
  • Enforce safety protocols and quality standards across all outage activities.

Your background across disciplinesMechanical

  • Experience overseeing steam/combustion turbines, HRSGs, boilers, and valve work.
  • Working knowledge of Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment.
  • Exposure to P91 welding.

Electrical

  • Leadership over generator, exciter, and auxiliary electrical system maintenance.
  • 1+ years serving as an Electrical Supervisor or Superintendent.
  • Hands-on familiarity with grounding, medium/low voltage systems, transformers, and interpreting P&IDs.

Instrumentation & Control (I&C)

  • Calibration, testing, and tuning of control systems.
  • Field experience with DCS platforms such as GE Mark V/VI or Ovation.
  • Commissioning and startup of DCS systems.
  • Ability to read P&ID, electrical, and mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least 2 years in outage coordination or power plant maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience with safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Compensation

We are committed to transparency and equity. The base pay range for this role is estimated at $50 55/hr, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills.
