Posterity Group is seeking experienced Board-Certified Dosimetrist with the Radiation Oncology Clinical Care Center (ROCCC), VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) Baltimore VA Medical Center (VAMC).
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Treatment Planning: Evaluates consistency of target volumes Identifies critical structures and contours as required Generates QA plans as required for IMRT and reference points as needed for physics checks Properly utilizes reference points to sum dose to sites Follows established procedures and dose constraints Quality and level of planning capability Completeness and quality of setup fields DRR and CBCT aspects of planning
- Documentation: Assures that Rx Physics plan are signed/approved by Physician prior to treatment All paperwork and electronic forms are complete signed and labeled accordingly Procedure codes are complete timely and accurate Documents dates signs all changes to treatment set up Properly makes additions and modifications to patient tracker
- Planning and Time Utilization Work is thought out and planned in advance and successfully implemented Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to the fluctuating needs of the department patients and Attending staff Demonstrates ability to multi task multiple plans and planning tasks and responsibilities Coordinates own work to achieve efficiency Work is completed in a timely manner meeting patient schedules and allowing time for physics check
- Initiative: Demonstrates ability to understand tasks and creatively apply solutions Demonstrates ability to adopt new physics initiatives and policies Demonstrates ability to adopt new physics initiatives and policies Recognizes when help is needed by others and offers guidance and assistance Monitors patient tracker to effect a smooth and orderly process for patients and staff Takes ownership of plans and associated tasks to prevent issues that may delay patient treatment
- Participates in in service programs and conferences: Attends all required department in service meetings Attends billing/documentation/safety classes Attends annual Radiation Safety in service
- All other related duties as required Ability to construct shielding materials and templates Imports images to Eclipse and perform duties of Dosimetrist of the Day in a timely fashion Keeps physics supervisory staff informed of planning or linac issues Reports Medical Events to Director of Physics Contacts physician staff for plan review or information in an appropriate and timely manner
Requirements:
- Must be certified in medical dosimetry by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) with at least two years of continuous work experience within the last three years to ensure the CMD’s experience is current and relevant.
- CMD must also have the following minimum years of experience, expertise and knowledge on the following procedures, equipment and software:
Three (3) years of experience - Varian Linear Accelerators: Edge (or equivalent).
Three (3) years of experience - Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT (following standards of TG-142). Three (3) years of experience - Eclipse treatment planning system; and ARIA record & verify system, including the following treatment modalities: 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT (following standards of TG-53).
One (1) year of experience - Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro CT Simulator (or equivalent).
