Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities in a supportive and collaborative school environment. The position begins in late August 2026 and extends through early June 2027, offering a rewarding year-long contract near Maple Grove, MN.
You will work on-site full-time, Monday through Friday, with a daily schedule of approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Your caseload will consist of about nine students, giving you the opportunity to provide personalized support, foster growth, and help students reach their fullest potential.
What You’ll Need:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD)
- Ability to adapt instruction for individual learning needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Deliver engaging instruction and modified curriculum as appropriate to support academic and social growth
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Maintain open communication with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Adhere to district and state guidelines, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
