ESTIMATED PAY RANGE
$80,000 - $90,000 annually, DOE
JOB SUMMARY
As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Brooklyn Park, MN, you may: design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems, components, and fixtures from concept through production; utilize SolidWorks CAD and DriveWorks automation to create efficient, repeatable designs; apply design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles to reduce cost, improve quality, and streamline production processes; collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure designs meet specifications and business goals; ensuring seamless integration of new designs into manufacturing workflows; lead process improvements by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve accuracy; contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment by demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, and work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in mechanical design engineering
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience with DriveWorks for design automation and configuration management
- Strong understanding of GD&T, mechanical tolerancing, and design documentation
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, molding, and automation
- Demonstrated ability to apply DFM principles and optimize designs for cost, quality, and manufacturability
