Location: Neptune, NJ

Duration - 13 Weeks
Schedule

  • Shift: Nights
  • Hours: 3x12
  • Time: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Hours per Week: 36

Position Overview

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides specialized emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical, surgical, psychiatric, and trauma-related conditions. The ED RN must be able to rapidly assess, prioritize, and intervene in high-acuity situations while maintaining exceptional patient care and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage in emergency situations.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
  • Provide emergency care for trauma, medical, surgical, and behavioral health patients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance with hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Active New Jersey RN License or Compact RN License
  • Minimum 18 months of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Must have worked in an ED setting within the last 6 months
  • Demonstrated competency in emergency nursing practice

Required Certifications

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • Telemetry Certification
  • CEU Contact Stroke – 4 Hours
  • Active NJ RN License or Compact License
