Location: Neptune, NJ
Duration - 13 Weeks
Schedule
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 3x12
- Time: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Hours per Week: 36
Position Overview
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides specialized emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of medical, surgical, psychiatric, and trauma-related conditions. The ED RN must be able to rapidly assess, prioritize, and intervene in high-acuity situations while maintaining exceptional patient care and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage in emergency situations.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide emergency care for trauma, medical, surgical, and behavioral health patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance with hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active New Jersey RN License or Compact RN License
- Minimum 18 months of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Must have worked in an ED setting within the last 6 months
- Demonstrated competency in emergency nursing practice
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- Telemetry Certification
- CEU Contact Stroke – 4 Hours
- Active NJ RN License or Compact License
