Job DescriptionSalary: Salary Range: $77,000 - 101,977 per year, based on experience, plus benefits.

School Social Worker Position Description
Under the direction of the Principal, the Social Worker will address the psychological and social well-being of children. This person will provide information and counseling; and help children, parents and school staff work together to solve problems by communicating and providing referrals to other resources. The Social Worker will work with children ages 3 to 12.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist teachers and administrators in dealing with behavioral issues by communicating with students to find the causes of their distress;
  2. Conduct play and group therapy meetings, and individual therapy sessions;
  3. Develop and progress-monitor social emotional goals for Individualized Education Plans as necessary.
  4. Maintain case files and reports to track student information and progress and to recognize patterns in behavior;
  5. Contribute to social emotional learning curriculum that is reflective of the tenets of the Montessori method and aligns with Lees ABAR practices;
  6. Observe and provide feedback to staff delivering social emotional lessons;
  7. Assist in developing guidelines for a strong social work program for an expanding school;
  8. Support the establishment of a school-wide wellness program, including professional development for all staff;
  9. Form strategic partnerships and alliances with other agencies and community stakeholders to coordinate outreach and resources for families;
  10. Submit verbal and/or written reports on the activities and status of the family services areas as required;
  11. Serve as part of the Student Support, Child Study, and Special Education teams;
  12. Develop and progress-monitor social emotional goals for Individualized Education Plans as necessary.
  13. Other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  1. Master's degree and at least two years of related work experience.
  2. Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector a plus.
  3. Current social work or equivalent licensure, preferably LICSW.
  4. Commitment to Lees core values and ABAR principles (Anti-Racist/Anti-Bias practices).
