Gas Pressure Regulation Station CAD Designer
Job Description
Job DescriptionStep into the role
It’s Monday in Denver, and you’re owning a small gas regulation station upgrade from Issued for Review through final As‑Built. You open CADWorx, refine a 3D model, translate it into fabrication drawings, and knock out a clean bill of materials. After lunch, you sync with an engineer and a project manager to confirm classifications and constructability. By mid‑week, you’re on a full‑day field trip to Grand Junction or Alamosa, validating measurements so what’s on paper mirrors the real world. You wrap the week by issuing transmittals and logging drawing revisions—end‑to‑end design, done right.
What you’ll do
- Own complete design cycles for small gas regulator and regulation station projects (not large facilities like compressor stations), from IFR to IFC to As‑Built.
- Build accurate 2D/3D models in CAD (CADWorx preferred) and convert them into clear fabrication and construction drawing sets.
- Develop and maintain BOMs, pipe specifications, and schedules with precision.
- Incorporate redlines and feedback from engineers, field teams, and project stakeholders to revise drawings and reflect design changes.
- Manage document control, versioning, and formal transmittals to keep the record straight.
- Partner closely with engineers, project managers, and operations to validate design intent, classifications, and constructability.
- Conduct site visits (typically full‑day trips to locations such as Grand Junction or Alamosa) to confirm field conditions and dimensions.
- Apply core engineering concepts and drafting standards to deliver safe, accurate, and buildable designs.
What you bring
- Hands‑on drafting and design experience.
- Proficiency with CADWorx (preferred) or comparable CAD platforms.
- Ability to interpret drawings and connect them to real‑world field applications.
- Knowledge of pipe specifications and bills of materials (BOMs).
- 1+ years managing document control and revision tracking.
How you’ll work
This role blends office‑based drafting with real‑world site exposure. You’ll pair technical accuracy with collaboration—translating requirements into models and drawings that crews can build safely and confidently.
