TMS Technician (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)
Job Description
Job Description
We are looking for someone to be our lead Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Technician on our interventional psychiatry team! We use newer, 3-minute treatments for depression and a 20-minute treatment for OCD and compulsions. Most of the day is short visits with people as they come in daily for 6 weeks, so you get to know patients well and see them get the rapid relief from their condition. Outside of TMS treatments, this position involves helping with coordination, seating, and preparing patients for ketamine treatments. We will train you on our machine and our protocols, so no prior experience is needed.
We provide direct, hands-on patient care in an outpatient clinic with regular daytime clinic hours -- no weekends or holidays. We specialize in just 2 powerful procedures: Ketamine and TMS. Our patients are dealing with severe major depression, PTSD, OCD, and suicidal ideation, so desire to work with patients in psychological crisis is a must. We are a small clinic with limited staff, so must have experience working in a small team.
Because we are a small team, we cannot accommodate a partial schedule: our clinic hours are currently 8:30am-4:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with a half day on Wednesdays (8:30am-noon). Please ensure you can work the full schedule before you apply.
We believe in setting an example of how healthcare should be delivered, and therefore healthcare is covered completely for our employees, with no copays for medications or visits to providers in the Quartz network. Vision and Dental are covered with a generous plan, and the company provides additional funds to the Health Savings Account for the remaining coverage.
At the end of the calendar year, employees beyond their (90-day) probationary period are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus whereby any profits are distributed equally to all employees, regardless of position.
Minimum Training & Relevant Work Experience:
- We have many patients who would not seek treatment anywhere else due to immune compromise or other factors, so full adherence to STRICT COVID-SAFETY and the highest standards of universal precautions is essential
- Experience working with patients in crisis
- Experience with electronic records and communications (handwritten documentation is not permitted in our clinic)
- Compassionate towards all patients regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or belief system
- We are a technology-forward clinic, so the ideal candidate enjoys using new technologies and computerized care systems in the clinical setting
- The ideal candidate will have some health care certification (CNA, MA, etc), but must at least be familiar with standard HIPAA, sterile procedures, and following strict protocols.
