Job Title: CNA / Nurse Assistant – Acute Care Float (Hospital at Home)
Location: New York, NY
Assignment Type: Contract (9 Weeks)
Shift Details:
- Shift: Day Shift (3x12 Hours)
- Timing: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM
- Hours/Week: 37.5
- Schedule: Rotating weekends and holidays
- Block Scheduling: Not available
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and adaptable CNA / Nurse Assistant to join an Acute Care Float team supporting a Hospital at Home program. This role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care across various acute care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and changes in patient condition
- Support care delivery across multiple acute care units as part of a float pool
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Follow infection control protocols and safety standards
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- BLS Certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting OR experience as a certified Nurse Assistant in long-term care
- Completion of an approved Nurse Aide training program OR
currently enrolled in a BSN program (junior year or higher with at least one completed clinical practicum) - Prior hospital experience as a Nurse Aide (required)
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to adapt to different units and patient populations
