Job Title: CNA / Nurse Assistant – Acute Care Float (Hospital at Home)

Location: New York, NY
Assignment Type: Contract (9 Weeks)

Shift Details:

  • Shift: Day Shift (3x12 Hours)
  • Timing: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM
  • Hours/Week: 37.5
  • Schedule: Rotating weekends and holidays
  • Block Scheduling: Not available

Position Overview:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and adaptable CNA / Nurse Assistant to join an Acute Care Float team supporting a Hospital at Home program. This role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care across various acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility
  • Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and changes in patient condition
  • Support care delivery across multiple acute care units as part of a float pool
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Follow infection control protocols and safety standards
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • BLS Certification (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting OR experience as a certified Nurse Assistant in long-term care
  • Completion of an approved Nurse Aide training program OR
    currently enrolled in a BSN program (junior year or higher with at least one completed clinical practicum)
  • Prior hospital experience as a Nurse Aide (required)
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to adapt to different units and patient populations
