Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:
\n
• Work in Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPC) with 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds
\n• Patient ratio of 1:5 patients per RN
\n• Care for primary patient population including CV surgery and vascular surgery patients (open heart surgery, CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, thoracic lung surgery, lobectomy, thoracotomy, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies)
\n• Also care for overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block
\n• Perform typical procedures including epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV gluccommander, cardiac drip management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)
\n• Work with equipment including Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts
\n• Use Cerner EMR system
\n• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
\n• Must have stepdown and telemetry experience
\n• Preferred experience with CV surgery and vascular surgery population within past year, CVICU experience
\n• Float to any stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
\n• No call responsibilities
\n• Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period required
\n• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
\n• Must be team player, enjoy fast-paced environment, and be flexible
