Role: Quality Lead

Role Overview:
The Quality Lead II provides technical leadership and guidance to ensure all engineering, procurement, and construction activities comply with contractual, industry, and statutory quality standards. The position requires strong construction and mechanical quality control/assurance experience, ideally within the compression station environment, and proficiency with Hexagon Smart Completions software. Familiarity with ExxonMobil projects and MCAPS is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of project-wide quality systems in line with industry best practices and client requirements.
- Offer expert QA/QC support to confirm services, equipment, and materials fulfill all contract, specification, and regulatory obligations.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of the Contractor’s quality management systems; identify and close performance gaps.
- Oversee development and application of project-specific Surveillance Plans and Quality Procedures.
- Interpret project metrics, investigate root causes of quality issues, and drive resolutions.
- Direct discipline inspectors and provide hands-on quality support to the entire project team.
- Champion a culture of Quality across the project site, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Utilize Hexagon Smart Completions for quality tracking and documentation.
- Engage with project stakeholders (internal/external) to align on quality expectations and process enhancements.
- Availability for occasional travel between Midland field office and Houston.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in construction quality, with at least 3 years in a lead/managerial role.
- Heavy mechanical experience (compression stations, rotating equipment, piping, etc.).
- Previous exposure to ExxonMobil projects and MCAPS strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Hexagon Smart Completions or equivalent software.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a field office environment and occasionally travel to Houston.
Job Details:
Pay: $75/hr
Schedule: Start as 5/2 and move to 6/1 once construction starts
Location: Midland, TX
Reimbursements: In field mileage
