Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9-month contract
Compensation: $35-$45/hour (DOE)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to support corporate accounting operations with a focus on general ledger activities, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for a hands-on accountant who enjoys working in a corporate environment and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial results. CPA is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation
- Perform balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with preparation of internal financial reports
- Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies
- Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Partner with senior accounting and finance team members on reporting needs
- Assist with process improvements, documentation, and internal controls
- Support ad hoc accounting projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5+ years of corporate or general ledger accounting experience
- CPA not required
- Working knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles
- Experience with month-end close and reconciliations
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in a mid-size or large corporate environment
- Exposure to multi-entity or consolidated accounting
- Prior contract or project-based accounting experience
