Position: Aerial Utility Foreman

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aerial Utility Foreman to lead and support crews in the installation, repair, and maintenance of aerial utility systems, including telecommunications and cable lines. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in outdoor environments while guiding crews to successful project completion.


Key Responsibilities

· Lead and assist crews in the installation and maintenance of aerial and underground utility systems.

· Perform physical line work, including throwing weighted ropes over elevated cable lines and tree branches to pull and secure wires using lashers, ropes, and related tools.

· Safely operate bucket trucks and climb ladders and utility poles (50 feet or higher) in compliance with all safety standards.

· Install ground rods and anchors using pounding equipment.

· Direct cable pulls through new and existing conduits, ensuring proper placement and tension.

· Install equipment and dress poles according to customer and project specifications using hand and power tools.

· Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and work orders to plan daily assignments and job layouts.

· Set up and secure job sites with proper signage, cones, and barricades.

· Coordinate and distribute tools, materials, and equipment to crew members as needed.

· Inspect, maintain, and organize tools, equipment, and vehicles, including daily truck inspections and inventory management.

· Ensure job sites remain clean and safe, assisting with material handling and debris removal.

· Support additional duties as assigned to ensure projects stay on schedule.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

· Prior experience in telecommunications or construction, including aerial line work (required).

· Climbing experience and knowledge of aerial utility construction (required).

· Ability to operate a bucket truck and safely climb poles.

· Proficiency with hand and power tools used in aerial construction.

· Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Strong commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards.

· Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

· Strong communication and leadership skills.

· Willingness to travel as needed.

· Experience with telecommunications construction is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions and terrain.
