Job Title: Benefits Administrator

Pay: $70,000 – $75,000 annually

About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with our client to identify a Benefits Administrator who will support the management and administration of employee benefits programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring benefit offerings are administered effectively, employees receive clear guidance, and programs remain compliant with applicable regulations.
Job Description:
The Benefits Administrator will oversee the day-to-day coordination of employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, retirement, disability, and voluntary benefits. This role partners closely with Benefits leadership to support enrollment processes, vendor management, compliance reporting, and employee communication.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing complex benefits programs while providing strong internal support to employees and HR partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily administration of employee benefit plans, including enrollment activities, claims support, and employee communications
- Oversee processes related to the company’s 401(k) retirement plan
- Coordinate administration of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
- Reconcile benefit billing by auditing vendor invoices, coordinating payroll deductions, and processing payments
- Monitor benefits usage data and identify trends to support future plan design and cost management decisions
- Assist with system testing, maintain benefits-related web content, and generate reports on program performance
- Support planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including coordination with the benefits platform provider
- Maintain plan documentation and ensure updates align with system configuration and regulatory requirements
- Develop and distribute employee-facing benefits communications and educational materials
- Ensure timely completion of required federal and state filings (such as ACA, CMS, Form 5500, and PCORI)
- Assist with administration of employee leave programs including FMLA, disability, accommodations, and workers’ compensation
- Maintain accurate records related to leave requests and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Produce reports on leave activity and recommend process improvements when appropriate
- Maintain access and security permissions related to benefits systems in partnership with internal teams
- Collaborate with HR partners and external vendors to address benefit-related questions and issues
- Provide mentorship and support to colleagues within the HR or benefits team
- Deliver high-quality support to employees regarding benefit questions and concerns
- Assist with special projects and provide coverage for other benefits team members when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience administering employee benefits programs
- Strong understanding of benefit regulations including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, and Section 125
- Experience reviewing data, identifying benefit trends, and supporting informed decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain benefit information clearly to employees
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience collaborating with brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with HR technology platforms such as UKG and PlanSource is preferred
