This is a full-time 36 hour a week position, three 12hr shifts Monday-Wednesday some holidays, schedule 7am-7:30pm
THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Urgent Care Technician/Assistant is to provide the highest quality medical care to the patients of Angell Animal Medical Center West being seen through Urgent Care and support the ER/CCU staff with care of inpatients and clinic appointments as needed. The Urgent Care Technician/Assistant must work in conjunction with the Urgent Care doctor(s), ER/CCU team of doctors and technicians to provide support and direction for the interns and residents.
Some of the duties include:
- Utilize technical and clinical expertise in order to effectively assess, obtain pertinent patient history and relay to overseeing doctor in a timely manner.
- Provide support for the Urgent care doctor and team members and complete ordered treatments in a timely manner
- Assist in the training process of new and current employees; accurately recording, discussing and troubleshooting the trainee’s progress with the Leads and Supervisors.
- Work closely with Leads and Supervisors, and Urgent care doctors to maintain, update and communicate new medical protocols
- Manages supplies in the units by ensuring that exam rooms are stocked with essential medical supplies and sanitation products.

COMPENSATION:
Veterinary Assistants starting $22-$27/hour
Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $25-$30/hr, $5000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs!
Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least one year of experience working as a veterinary technician/assistant. Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-veterinarian hospital, emergency practice, or veterinary teaching hospital is ideal. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
