GBS is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst – Senior to support the design, development, and maintenance of clients's enterprise data warehouse and reporting environments. This role ensures data integrity, consistency, and availability across HR and payroll systems, providing analytics and visualizations that inform management decisions and improve workforce insight. The work will be performed remotely with occasional on-site visits.
Job Functions
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of IBC's enterprise data-warehouse environment and related subsystems.
- Build and maintain data warehouses to collect, organize, and stage transactional data for faster querying and reporting.
- Develop, test, and optimize data models, queries, and reports, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and consistent use of enterprise data definitions.
- Conduct data mining and analytical studies to identify trends, performance metrics, and workforce insights that inform HRD decision-making.
- Work with Database Administrators to monitor query performance, refine indexing, and improve data-retrieval speed.
- Ensure traceability of metrics to source systems and validate integrity between operational and reporting databases.
- Create dashboards and visualization products for management reporting using approved DOI/IBC tools (e.g., SAS, Oracle BI, or similar).
- Collaborate with system developers to integrate BI outputs with existing HR and payroll applications such as FPPS, Quicktime, and WebTA.
- Apply knowledge of SQL, data-modeling, and data-normalization techniques in support of analytics and decision support.
- Participate in testing and documentation of BI and data-warehouse processes per IBC's configuration-management and change-control policies.
- Maintain compliance with Federal IT security, privacy, and Section 508 standards in data presentation and reporting tools.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey insights and recommendations.
Skills and Abilities
- BI and Data Analysis roles supporting Federal programs: 5 years (Preferred)
- Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
- Solid understanding of data visualization best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience working with Excel, Python, or R is a plus.
Education / Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must be able to obtain a position of public trust with the US Government
