Job Description

SciPro is currently partnered with a small, but quickly-growing biopharmaceutical company that is seeking a Research Scientist The organization is developing first-in-class, receptor-targeted therapies for inflammatory, autoimmune, and metabolic diseases. Backed by a pipeline of differentiated programs, it integrates strong translational science with a focused, capital-efficient model, enabling meaningful clinical progress within a streamlined and agile structure.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and running cell-based assays in order to gain a deeper biological understanding of the compounds. This is a hands-on bench role where you will perform cell culture and protein or genomic assays, analyze data, and collaborate closely with the biology team to advance internal research programs. The position will require you ot be onsite 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct day-to-day research experiments to investigate the mechanism of action of novel drug compounds targeting the neuroendocrine melanocortin receptor system, including assessing peptide and small-molecule agonists/antagonists for potential applications in inflammation, obesity, and autoimmune diseases.
  • Independently execute a broad range of laboratory techniques, including cell culture, transfections, in vitro cell-based assays, ELISA, functional assays, Western blotting, microscopy, and chromogenic/fluorogenic assays.
  • Design, refine, and validate both new and existing methodologies to support key research objectives.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data; develop comprehensive reports, presentations, and protocols for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory documentation while adhering to safety and regulatory standards to ensure data integrity.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to experimental detail and data quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with research teams while also driving projects forward independently.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to clearly present experimental findings and provide scientific insights to support project reviews and descion making processes.

Qualifications:

  • BA, MS, or PhD with 2-7 years of industry experience in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing in vitro cell-based assays.
  • Proven ability to independently perform sterile cell culture techniques.
  • Experienced in basic molecular biology & protein biochemistry methods.
  • Strong computer skills, including pro
