Job DescriptionA growing and stable organization is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is fully onsite in Columbus, OH and offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative accounting team supporting a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily banking activities, including monitoring and reconciling bank accounts and credit card transactions
- Deposit checks using remote scanning tools and manage ACH verifications
- Record accounts receivable transactions, including payments and other incoming funds
- Bill monthly work orders and maintain accurate records across multiple systems
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, utilities, and data entry into accounting platforms
- Assist with uploading payment and financial data into property management systems
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Record recurring entries such as depreciation, insurance expense, and other monthly adjustments
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and schedules
- Serve as backup support to other accounting team members as needed
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping or general accounting experience required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivots and vlookups)
- Experience with Yardi or a similar property management/accounting system preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-service mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Pay Details: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour
