This RN Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg position is based in Gainesville, FL at a 523-bed, full-service acute care hospital that is Joint Commission accredited, certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation from the American College of Cardiology. The hospital also carries Blue Distinction Center designations for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery and offers comprehensive cardiovascular, oncology, orthopedics, and neurosciences services.
The role. Working within the cardiac telemetry med-surg unit, you will conduct thorough patient assessments at admission and each shift, identifying and escalating changes in patient status promptly. You will carry out provider-ordered procedures and monitoring while maintaining accurate, timely documentation in the medical record. Medication administration is a core responsibility — you will monitor each patient's therapeutic response and intervene appropriately when unintended reactions occur. You will also serve as a primary educator for patients, families, and caregivers, translating complex medical information about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care into language that ensures genuine understanding.
What we're looking for.
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (within the last 2 years)
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders must obtain a Florida license within 60 days of relocation
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Schedule. Positions are available on days or nights, both with rotating weekend requirements.
Compensation. $29.73 - $29.73/hr
