Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide critical cardiovascular nursing care in a 22-bed Cardiac ICU located in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract assignment offers the opportunity to manage complex post-operative cardiac patients, including those with mechanical circulatory support devices. Ideal candidates have at least one year of CVICU experience and strong skills in cardiac hemodynamic monitoring and medication titration.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in the state
  • Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
  • Proficient in post-cardiac surgery assessment and management of circulatory support devices such as IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO
  • Skilled in titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications
  • Ability to interpret cardiac waveforms and perform hemodynamic monitoring
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries and interventions
  • Monitor complex cardiac conditions and titrate medications accordingly
  • Collaborate with intensivists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Utilize specialized ICU equipment, including CRRT and advanced monitoring systems
  • Adhere to unit policies, participate in weekend rotations approximately every other week, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (0630-1900 or 1830-0700)
  • Weekend rotations every other week
  • Work approximately 75% of holidays
