Location: Richmond, VA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Days, On-Call

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 Depending on Experience + Bonus and Excellent Benefits

Your Day in This Role

It’s 7:00 a.m. in Richmond. You walk onto the production floor of HandCraft Linen and Uniform Services’ Retail Medical plant and take in the hum of high-throughput equipment. Your first stop is a quick safety huddle—reinforcing lockout/tagout and hazard controls—before reviewing overnight CMMS logs. A conveyor drive shows rising vibration, so you coordinate a preventive replacement to avoid downtime. By mid-morning, you’re shoulder-to-shoulder with technicians, coaching through a controls fault on a PLC-driven system. After lunch, you audit work orders, verify parts levels, and meet with Corporate Engineering to scope an operational upgrade that will boost Overall Equipment Effectiveness. You finish the day planning cross-training, approving vendor PMs, and confirming the facility is set up for a safe, efficient night shift handoff.

What You’ll Lead

  • Safety compliance: Champion protocols, identify hazards, and drive corrective actions to keep a safe environment.
  • Preventive maintenance: Direct routine inspections, PMs, and equipment/facility audits to ensure quality work.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs: Support technicians in diagnostics and sound repair practices to minimize downtime.
  • Operational support: Partner with operations to maximize overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians.
  • Documentation and reporting: Own CMMS/work-order compliance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Parts and procurement: Oversee inventory, restock programs, and purchasing.
  • Vendor management: Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Continuous improvement: Collaborate with Corporate Engineering on operational enhancements.
  • Training and mentoring: Build capability through coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Other duties as required.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
  • 3+ years of management experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency and CMMS familiarity.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills; able to work well with diverse personalities.
  • Solid mechanical/electrical knowledge and leadership presence.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, challenging setting.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
