Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized and group music therapy sessions tailored to client needs and goals
- Utilize music interventions to support emotional expression, cognitive development, motor skills, communication, and social interaction
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including educators, healthcare providers, therapists, and families, to integrate music therapy into treatment or educational plans
- Assess client strengths, progress, and therapeutic outcomes, maintaining accurate documentation and reports
- Adapt instruments, music activities, and approaches to accommodate diverse abilities and developmental levels
- Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for clients of all ages and backgrounds
- Stay current with research-based practices in music therapy and implement innovative techniques
- Educate staff, caregivers, and community members about the benefits of music therapy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA-accredited program
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) required
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a School setting
- Strong communication, time management, and clinical decision-making skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in a School setting
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and patient-centered care
