Location: Kansas City, MO
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Schedule: Mixed or Night Shifts (3x 12-hour shifts, Rotating Weekends)
On-Call Requirement: Must live within 30 minutes of the facility

Pay & Incentives

  • Hourly Pay Range: $25 – $35 (based on experience; top of range for 17+ years of experience)

  • Shift Differentials: $3/hour Nights, $3/hour Weekends

  • On-Call Pay: $3/hour

  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

Job Summary

A large 585+ bed acute care hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced OR Tech 2 (Tier 2) to support surgical services across multiple specialties. This role provides safe, efficient, and patient-centered perioperative care as a key member of the surgical team. OR Tech 2s assist in most surgical procedures but are not yet in leadership or advanced specialty roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the surgical suite, including instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment for seamless procedures

  • Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping, prioritizing patient comfort, privacy, and safety

  • Scrub in and provide instruments, handle specimens, and anticipate surgical team needs

  • Monitor patients and surgical equipment during procedures, responding appropriately to concerns

  • Uphold sterile technique and support efficient room turnover

  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing OR team environment

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of OR Tech experience

  • Tech II competency: Able to first scrub in at least three of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Vascular Surgery

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT) program

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required upon hire

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Efficiency with surgical instruments and wire techniques

  • Team player with excellent communication skills
