As our Executive Sous Chef, you will serve as second-in-command to the Executive Chef. You will lead the kitchen team, uphold the highest standards of food quality, and step in to manage all operations seamlessly when required. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and execution to guarantee every dish meets premium quality standards and delights guests.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff while building a collaborative, high-performance team.
- Manage staffing schedules, inventory, food costs, and ordering to drive strong financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Assume full responsibility as acting Executive Chef during absences.
- Partner with the Executive Chef on menu development, seasonal offerings, and innovative dishes while addressing dietary needs and allergy protocols.
- Enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and health regulations through regular checks and quality assurance.
- Act as an effective communicator and liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain smooth service.
- Promote continuous improvement, solve problems under pressure, and foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Sous Chef (or equivalent) in a high-volume restaurant environment (fine dining, upscale casual, or similar strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated success in achieving financial goals, including food cost control, waste reduction, and profitability.
- Genuine passion for culinary excellence, team development, mentoring, and delivering outstanding guest satisfaction.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen stations.
- Trustworthy character with a commitment to honesty and professionalism.
- Culinary degree or relevant certifications (ServSafe, ACF, etc.) considered a plus.
