Position Summary: The Field Sales Representative for Wisconsin reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, will engage with jobsites in the commercial and industrial sectors. This includes, but is not limited to, universities, K-12 schools, healthcare facilities, and industrial plants. The representative will interact face-to-face with contractors to demonstrate the value that Porter Pipe & Supply can add to their construction projects, ultimately enhancing their profitability. The Field Sales Representative also provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.
Essential Functions:
- Visit and call on jobsites in the commercial and industrial markets.
- Take ownership as a product solutions champion for our key lines. This includes conducting contractor training, addressing jobsite challenges, and supporting sales efforts by demonstrating tooling, assemblies, and product applications.
- Conduct jobsite training sessions, lunch & learns, cookouts, etc.
- Drive customer account engagement/entertainment directly with customers and through joint outside sales activities.
- Drive strategic vendor engagement to identify existing and potential customers for increased opportunity and sales growth.
- Analyze regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
- Recommend new services/products and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction.
- Address customer challenges and resolve service issues.
- Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and establishing personal networks.
- Monitor economic indicators, changing market trends, supply and demand, and competitors to maintain sales volume and product offerings.
- Support sales associates in generating market leads and close new deals.
- Document customer interactions and maintain data records related to activities, accounts, and partnerships.
- Be available for occasional evening and weekend work.
- Expect up to one overnight stay per week.
- Provide weekly itineraries, forecasts and sales reports.
- Plan work weeks effectively and engage in social networking at least once a week.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education:
- High school diploma required, associates degree preferred.
- Previous sales experience preferred.
- Experience in customer service is required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
