We’re currently seeking a dedicated and skilled School Occupational Therapist for a high school district in McHenry County, IL. This is a part-time opportunity beginning August 12, 2025, with a Monday to Friday schedule totaling 14–15 hours per week.


This position offers a meaningful chance to support students in grades 9–12 through therapeutic interventions that enhance their functional independence and participation in school activities. You'll join a collaborative, student-centered team dedicated to promoting student success and well-being.


Position Details:

  • Position: School Occupational Therapist
  • Location: McHenry County, IL
  • Start Date: August 12, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 14–15 hours per week
  • Grades: 9th–12th grade
  • Caseload: 44 students


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapeutic support to students, addressing challenges related to motor skills, sensory processing, and daily functional activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement strategies that support student success across the school environment.
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans and accommodations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Advocate for students by connecting them with community resources and support services to address academic, physical, and social-emotional needs.
  • Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure student well-being and progress.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • IL state OT License
  • ESA Certification for School Occupational Therapy in Washington State.
  • Proven experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs and developmental challenges.
