About the Role
The Inside Sales Manager will lead and develop a high-performing inside sales team to drive revenue growth and achieve profitability goals. This role is responsible for execution, team performance, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement across phone, email, and digital sales channels.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate inside sales representatives to meet or exceed targets
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Establish clear KPIs and performance expectations (quotes, orders, activity)
- Communicate performance updates, challenges, and insights to leadership
- Act as a bridge between sales and production to ensure alignment
- Handle escalations and complex customer or operational issues
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor daily sales metrics including quotes and order activity
- Analyze trends and implement performance improvement plans
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members
- Provide consistent reporting and visibility to leadership
Process, Tools & Collaboration
- Ensure accurate and effective CRM usage (customer data, terms, orders)
- Maintain clean pipelines (monthly order cleanup, quarterly quote cleanup)
- Continuously improve sales workflows and processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and Finance
Customer Experience
- Ensure a high-quality, consistent customer experience from inquiry to delivery
- Maintain strong communication standards across all channels
- Ensure response times remain within 24 hours
Daily / Weekly / Monthly Responsibilities
- Manage team attendance, scheduling, and approvals
- Oversee shared inbox and communication flow
- Serve as escalation point for the inside sales team
- Track chargebacks and report daily totals
- Lead sales meetings, set agendas, and follow through on action items
- Maintain CRM data accuracy and perform quarterly cleanups
- Support quarterly performance evaluations
