Job DescriptionPosition Title: Day Services Supervisor
Department: Adult Training
Reports to: Associate Director
Telework Eligible: No
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
Bi-Weekly Hours: 80

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide supervision to all employees assigned to specific program components. This includes training, appraisal, and assigning of duties. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of compassion are necessary as position works with a diverse population. The Supervisor I is responsible for the direct supervision of Instructors in the Adult Training program.

SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or related field; or Associate's Degree; or high school diploma and relevant experience.
2. Ability to function with and relate to persons with intellectual and physical disabilities
3. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
4. Ability to develop and implement outcomes
5. Experience with or knowledge of assessment instruments
6. PA Driver's License

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise all employees assigned to the program area (monitor performance, train new employees, ensure all required training is completed, and complete new employee annual and interim performance appraisals).
2. Develop volunteer, recreational, and paid work experiences in the community in collaboration with Associate Director.
3. Monitor program participants’ general health and diet, and communicate needs to Associate Director and residential provider and/or family.
4. Assist with intake and referral process for new admissions.
5. Coordinate planning time and group meetings to discuss programmatic needs.
6. Supervise and assist each program participant with day-to-day and therapeutic activities (e.g., toileting, feeding, transferring, mobility, behavior management).
7. Assist with licensing inspections.
8. Ensure compliance with corporate policy and procedures, state regulations, and any other applicable laws and regulations.
9. Develop and implement programs.
10. Evaluate, guide, and instruct/supervise program participants in a comprehensive program, assuring completion of all required reports and forms, program participant expenditures, incident reports, programmatic reports, and meeting minutes.
11. Cooperate with daily schedule changes for designated group in times of employee absence.
12. Represent assigned program group at meetings, as appropriate.
13. Responsible for selecting materials and maintaining the program area and equipment, including an updated inventory.
14. Knowledge of emergency procedures.
15. Responsible for establishing schedules for supervision and providing supervision as needed during lunch, breaks, and before and after program hours.
16. Provide therapeutic activities for older adults.
17. Provide transportation for program participants, as required.
18. Obtain 24 hours of training each training year.
19. Regular attendance at work.
20. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk and hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste and smell.
• The employee is required to lift and/or move more than 35 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
