PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER – SPECIAL EDUCATION

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, private, special education school who is seeking a Physical Education Teacher who has experience teaching students from grades K-12 with special needs. Maintain awareness of students that need extra guidance and support.

Salary - $70,000-$85,000 Depending on experience

Excellent benefits package – Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Program

Days/Hours: M-F, 7:55a.m. to 2:25p.m., with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesdays when there are after school meetings at 3:30p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Additional meetings as needed for curriculum night, parent/teacher conferences, etc.

Responsibilities for the Physical Education Teacher:

· Offer guidance and support to students

· Follow P.E. curriculum

· Implement lesson plans that are tailored to students who have sensory needs and physical and health limitations

· Familiar with the IEP process

· Create report cards and maintain an accurate grade book

· Work with families and school staff

Requirements for the Physical Education Teacher:

· Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field

· NYS Certification in Physical Education

· Minimum 1 year previous experience teaching physical education to students with special needs

· Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty

· Must be able to provide 3 professional references
