Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician (Food and Beverage Manufacturing)
Indinanapolis, IN
$30-$40/hr. + $1 shift differencial
NIGHT SHIFT
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the operation and upkeep of high-speed beverage production equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery to ensure maximum uptime, product quality, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain and repair equipment such as fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, pumps, and mixers
- Diagnose PLC-controlled systems and assist with basic troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
- Perform equipment changeovers and line adjustments for different product runs
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and manuals
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation (CMMS systems)
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP) and plant safety procedures
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve equipment performance
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical certification or associate degree preferred)
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial equipment and systems
- Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and pumps
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (sensors, relays, wiring, VFDs)
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food & beverage or packaging manufacturing
- Knowledge of high-speed bottling or canning lines
- PLC troubleshooting and basic programming knowledge
- Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG preferred)
- Experience with automation, robotics, or vision systems
- Understanding of sanitary design and food-grade equipment
