Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician (Food and Beverage Manufacturing)

Indinanapolis, IN

$30-$40/hr. + $1 shift differencial

NIGHT SHIFT


Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the operation and upkeep of high-speed beverage production equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery to ensure maximum uptime, product quality, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, pumps, and mixers
  • Diagnose PLC-controlled systems and assist with basic troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Perform equipment changeovers and line adjustments for different product runs
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and manuals
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation (CMMS systems)
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP) and plant safety procedures
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve equipment performance


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical certification or associate degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial equipment and systems
  • Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and pumps
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (sensors, relays, wiring, VFDs)
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food & beverage or packaging manufacturing
  • Knowledge of high-speed bottling or canning lines
  • PLC troubleshooting and basic programming knowledge
  • Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG preferred)
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or vision systems
  • Understanding of sanitary design and food-grade equipment
