Step into a rewarding role supporting students in an elementary school’s moderate to severe needs classroom. This full-time contract opportunity allows you to make a meaningful difference each day, working closely with educators and young learners to create an inclusive and nurturing environment. With a schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., you’ll play a vital role in the daily success and well-being of the students you serve.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or similar classroom support role
- Familiarity with working with children with moderate to severe disabilities
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach
- Ability to take direction from lead teachers and special education staff
- High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications preferred)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Offer hands-on classroom support for instructional and behavioral needs
- Assist students with daily routines, academic tasks, and social interaction
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of certified staff
- Foster a positive, encouraging learning atmosphere for all students
- Help with classroom setup, materials preparation, and activity facilitation
- Provide support for meal times, personal care, and mobility as needed
- Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to progress tracking
