Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This contract role supports students who are deaf or hard of hearing by providing specialized instruction and communication support via telehealth technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering instructional services tailored to students with hearing impairments through virtual platforms
- Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to develop individualized learning plans
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Providing auditory and speech therapy support consistent with students needs
- Maintaining detailed documentation of sessions and student outcomes
- Staying current with best practices and advancements in deaf education and telehealth methodologies
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure in Teaching Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience delivering telehealth educational services
- Strong understanding of auditory development and communication strategies for deaf/hard of hearing students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote instruction
- Ability to use video conferencing and other telecommunication technologies effectively
- Commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments
