Arkansas Talent Group's Executive Search Division is exclusively working on a Controller role for one of Arkansas' largest employers in Conway, Arkansas. This is a rare and unique opportunity to join one of Arkansas most premier publicly traded companies in our great state.
The Controller will oversee financial operations across all North America locations. This role is responsible for managing a large accounting team of 20+ professionals and supporting $500M+ in annual revenue across multiple sites. The Controller will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Direct the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial statements, management reports, and forecasts to deliver actionable insights to senior leadership
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budget process and implement rolling 12-month forecasting, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends
- Internal Controls: Design, implement, and monitor robust internal control systems to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Coordinate SOX compliance and manage related audits
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to all relevant accounting standards, corporate policies, and external regulatory requirements
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture
- Strategic Financial Planning: Partner with executive and senior management to develop and execute strategies that support the divisions financial goals, including pricing, margin analysis, and profitability initiatives
- Performance Measurement: Analyze business performance against key metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide timely and insightful reporting to drive informed decision-making
- External Audit Management: Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, coordinating audit activities and ensuring timely completion of all audit requirements
- Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively communicate financial results, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership, operations, and external partners
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and leverage technology to improve reporting and analysis
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the divisions assets and interests are protected
- Project Leadership: Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, such as system upgrades, business integrations, or process reengineering initiatives
- Talent Development: Recruit, train, and retain top finance talent, supporting career development and succession planning within the team
- Cost Management: Oversee cost control initiatives, working closely with operations to optimize resource allocation and drive profitability
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and support for special projects, acquisitions, and other business initiatives as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA/MBA highly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Proven experience managing large teams and multi-site operations
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls (publicly traded company exposure)
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and lead organizational change
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems, large ERP Systems, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office Suite
