- Pay Rate: Up to $120/hr combined (taxable hourly + tax-free allowances for travel, housing, meals). Rates may vary and are subject to change.

The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. The Registered Radiologic Technologist will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable service to the patient and the team.
Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
-All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
-Assists with inventory/supplies.
-Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
-Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.
-Documents accurately and completely.
Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
Job Duties:
-Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.
-Assess patients for allergies.
-Peripheral Vascular work.
-Venous Central Lines.
-Tube Changes.
-Embolization Work (Venous and Arterial).
-Venous Thrombectomy Work.
-Peripheral Vascular work.
-Venous Central Lines.
-Tube Changes.
-Embolization Work (Venous and Arterial).
-Venous Thrombectomy Work.
-Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred.
-Dialysis work (AV Fistulas, Tunneled Dialysis Catheters, Peritoneal Dialysis Catheters).
-Tube access and changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, Abscess, SPC).
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting.
Department-Specific Skills & Experience:
-Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
-Can pull supplies for procedures.
-Experience with Interventional Neurology is preferred.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-BLS (American Heart Association)
-ACLS (American Heart Association)
-IEMA Radiography License Illinois.
-Radiography (R)(ARRT).
