Job Summary:Investigates and adjusts complex commercial property claims, including business interruption, by determining coverage, cause, and extent of loss. Manages onsite appraisals, consultants, and cost controls. Establishes accurate reserves and communicates claim status clearly and promptly. Negotiates fair settlements in alignment with policy terms and timelines. Documents all activities and decisions thoroughly in the claim file. Supports quality assurance and is available for catastrophe deployments. This is a contract position.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years’ experience in commercial property claims
- Strong knowledge of coverage evaluation, loss assessment, and regulatory compliance
- Proficient in negotiation, financial analysis, and reserve management
- Effective communicator and customer-focused
- Willingness to travel for extended catastrophe assignments
Responsibilities
- Inspect the property for damage
- Interview claimants and witnesses
- Gather information from a variety of sources, including police reports and surveillance cameras
- Write claim reports
- Consult with other professionals
- Negotiate settlements
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous experience as a commercial claims adjuster is preferred
- Experience using industry-specific software
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience writing detailed reports
Preferred: NFIP Flood certified Licensed adjuster FEMA disaster experience
