Benefit Mediator/Ombudsman - Madison, WI (1+ Year Contract Position)
**Must live in Wisconsin**
This could be a great opportunity to gain exposure working on contract with the State of Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds.
Schedule: Full Time - Weekdays from 8am to 5pm - Hybrid/Remote Capability Upon Training Completion
Pay: $35+/Hr Depending Upon Experience + Benefits Available
If you are a tech-savvy, customer service-oriented individual with 3+ years of experience in state and federal regulations governing Medicare & Medicaid programs, insurance (health, life, income continuation) and Wisconsin Retirement Programs, this benefit mediation (Ombudsman) role may be for you!
In this position, the Ombudsperson will work directly with plan participants including members and retirees to resolve disputes regarding insurance: health, vision, dental, STD and LTD, duty disability, reimbursements, deferred compensation or income continuation.
Through this process, the Ombudsperson must negotiate changes in policy, practice, or benefit provision of interpretations with insurance plans, third-party administrators, and Department staff. Must be comfortable with complaint, resolution and advocacy techniques, along with working knowledge of delivery systems, grievance and appeals processes.
If unable to resolve a complaint, the Ombudsperson advises the participant on the remaining options.
