Sutton Financial offers Comprehensive Goals-Based Flat-Fee Financial Planning to individuals on a one-time or ongoing basis. Sutton Financial is on a mission to prevent individuals from having a large portion of their investment portfolio reduced by the Assets Under Management (AUM) Fees implored by most Financial Advisers. This practice is seeking an individual with experience in accounting, financial services or personal finance to function as a case development and planning associate. Position Summary:
The Paraplanner will be responsible for assisting the Financial Planner with reviewing, analyzing, and preparing financial plans for clients. The Paraplanner will engage with clients, utilize eMoney financial planning software, prepare documents for pre and post client meetings, and provide ongoing client support. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to understand financial planning concepts and have strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Interact with prospective clients through appointments and working sessions
· Utilize financial planning software to gather, input, organize, and evaluate data (i.e., client financial statements and relevant documents), and prepare the following financial recommendations (with financial professional’s guidance) for the client:
- Summaries of the client’s goals and objectives, cash flow and balance sheet, and financial gaps
- Summary of miscellaneous financial planning techniques the client should be aware of or consider
- Calculations summarizing the client’s risk management needs, including disability and life insurance
- Calculations summarizing the client’s liquidity and survivor’s income needs in the event of a premature death
· Prepare financial reports, analyses, and proposals (with financial professionals guidance) for periodic client appointments, as well as managing and scheduling these appointments
· Support current clients by updating their financial plans and profiles through enhanced reporting on their continued needs, and develop presentation materials for business reviews
· Assist with client marketing via social media initiatives
· Maintain proper record keeping for compliance purposes
Skills and Requirements
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and willing to learn new computer systems
· Mathematics: Ability to read and analyze existing financial documents and spreadsheets
· Superior Technical Skills and comfort level with financial planning software (eMoney, SunGard, NaviPlan, etc.), as well as investment analytical tools, like Morningstar Advisor Workstation
· Ability to understand financial planning concepts, recognize/read personal and corporate financial documents, take direction, “brainstorm” with financial professional, and facilitate interaction with outside resources
· Strong analytical skills with background in computer systems, mathematics, economics, or finance preferred
· Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills, including presentation and interpersonal skills
· Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively to a wide range of clients
· Dedicated commitment to providing superior customer service with focus on quality
· Strong client focus with ability to independently and proactively analyze and resolve customer service issues in a timely manner
Experience
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
· At least two years of working on financial plans with a fundamental understanding of investments, insurance, cash flow, taxation, estate planning, business succession planning and education planning
· Strong Financial Background
· Life/Health Insurance License (or willingness to obtain)
· FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65, or 66 (or willingness to obtain)
Hours
· Full time
· Monday through Friday (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Work Location
· Knoxville, Tennessee
Salary
· Less than 3 Years Experience ($41,600 - $52,000)
· More than 3 Year Experience ($52,000 - $62,400)
· Potential Bonus based company performance
· Four (4) Weeks Paid Vacation
