Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to provide speech-language pathology services within an elementary school setting in Houston, TX. The role requires an active Texas SLP license and prior school-based experience. Candidates will support students through evaluations, therapy, and participation in individualized education program (IEP) meetings.
Location & Assignment Details:
- Houston, TX (East Houston: Tijerina ES, Burnet ES, Laurenzo ECC; Southwest Houston: Herod Elementary)
- Contract duration through June 4, 2026
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Start date: ASAP
- One opening available
- Interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams (1530 minutes)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students speech and language needs
- Participate in IEP and referral meetings collaboratively with school staff and families
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Manage caseload efficiently (approximate caseload of 58 for campus-based role)
- Complete documentation and progress reports in a timely manner
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
- Active, valid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license (required)
- Relevant school-based experience with early childhood and elementary populations
- Familiarity with special education, especially autism and behavioral challenges
- Ability to provide bilingual services is a plus, especially for itinerant roles
- Reliable transportation and confirmation of commute feasibility for chosen location
- Readiness to complete district-specific requirements such as fingerprinting
