Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A middle school is seeking a dedicated School Counselor for a contract position covering the current school year. This role is based in Derry, NH, and provides an opportunity to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students in a dynamic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students' mental health and well-being
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive learning environments
- Develop and implement prevention and intervention programs addressing student needs
- Assist students with academic planning, career exploration, and personal goal setting
- Maintain accurate documentation of counseling sessions and student progress
- Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Counselor
- Experience working with middle school-aged students
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff and families
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, adolescent development, and educational laws
