Field Archaeologists – R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc.

R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. has openings for durational field archaeologists. This position will require travel for which single occupancy lodging and per diem reimbursements of $45 per day will be provided.

Job Duties and Requirements:

  • Follow direction from Project Management and Operations Personnel to execute archeological field work within a project area and complete documentation of the field efforts undertaken;

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field;
  • Completed an accredited archaeological field school;
  • Previous fieldwork experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work well with others and be a proactive part of a project team;
  • Detailed note taking skills;
  • A valid driver's license

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.   • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should take precautions to use proper lifting techniques and may request assistance or accommodations as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for collaborating with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Employees should be able to clearly convey information, instructions, and findings in both individual and group settings.
  • The employee must possess the ability to maintain attention to detail, demonstrate focus, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. This includes managing competing priorities while adhering to project deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • The position may require working under varying environmental conditions, including exposure to outdoor elements. Employees are expected to adhere to safety guidelines and wear any necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • The ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods is necessary to perform duties accurately and efficiently, particularly during field surveys

This position is a durational appointment, ending upon completion of the project. The hourly pay rate is $18.00 - $20.00
