Job DescriptionJob SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated Kennel Assistant to be the backbone of our daily animal care operations. In this role, you aren’t just a caretaker; you are a companion to the animals in our charge. You will ensure every guest is happy, healthy, and safe by managing their daily routines—from feeding and exercise to maintaining a pristine environment. You'll work within a well experienced team who's top priority is our guest safety, closely followed by fun.
Since we pride ourselves on transparency with our clients, you will use our dedicated "Pet Parent" software to document each animal's day along with our physical monitoring system. The ideal candidate is someone who balances a deep love for animals with the discipline to maintain high standards of cleanliness and record-keeping.
Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Animal Care: Provide for the physical and emotional needs of all animals, including feeding, walking, supervised play, and administering medications as directed.
  • Facility Upkeep: Maintain a hygienic environment by cleaning kennels, sanitizing play areas, and managing laundry (bedding and toys).
  • Client Relations: Provide friendly, professional service to "human" customers during drop-offs, pick-ups, and inquiries.
  • Digital Documentation: Utilize tablets and smartphones to maintain real-time, accurate records of animal behavior, health, and care schedules.
  • Safety & Observation: Monitor animal behavior closely to ensure a safe environment for both the pets and your teammates.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience in a professional animal care setting (clinic, shelter, or boarding) is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with animal handling techniques and basic behavioral cues.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with smartphones and tablets is required for our digital logging systems.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative "team-first" mentality.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and handle animals of varying sizes and energy levels.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive Compensation: We value your hard work and reward it accordingly.
  • 401k Plan.
  • Bonuses.
  • Employee Discounts like free dog care.
  • Positive Work Environment: Join a supportive team that shares your passion for animal welfare.
  • Career Growth: Opportunities for advancement within our growing animal care family.
