AOC Electrician Job Duties:

  • Replaces faulty electrical components of equipment (relays, switches, motors, etc.)
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and components of equipment
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis of failures and eliminating equipment problems
  • Assist with projects, installation of new equipment and modification of existing equipment
  • Follow the National Electrical Code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and all company policies and procedures (Environmental, Health and Safety, Code of Conduct, etc.)
  • Performs electrical work necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment.
  • Understands and applies practical knowledge of AC and DC electrical principles, ladder logic, PLC and basic industrial electronics. Interprets and analyzes electrical blueprints, schematic and wiring diagrams. Lines up power distribution system to meet operating conditions and records meter readings.
  • Receives and follows instructions on scheduled or emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be performed.
  • Locates and diagnoses trouble and determines material and replacement parts/tools needs and most expedient method of making repairs. Notifies supervision of mechanical/electrical issues. Notifies responsible parties for safety, environmental and production requirements.
  • Repairs, replaces, installs, dismantles, assembles, adjusts, maintains and lubricates mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Uses power tools, hand tools, test equipment, conduit bending, instrumentation testing and related equipment in making repairs and installations.
  • Demonstrate and maintain behaviors that proactively support safe work practices while recognizing and communicating conditions of potential risk.
  • Performs mechanical/electrical repairs and preventative maintenance as required in connection with their scope of work.
  • May work alone, with minimum supervision, and works well with others
  • Coordinates and works in conjunction with Operators and Mechanics in the performance of maintenance tasks.
  • High and Low voltage. Ability to work safely with various voltage levels, from low volage control systems to high voltage equipment.
  • Lockout / Tagout – through understanding and strict adherence to LOTO procedures to prevent accidental energization of equipment during maintenance.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of electrician experience working around heavy machinery.
  • Two-year technical degree from an accredited institution
  • Certified and licensed Journeyman Electrician in the state of California
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, customer service, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout and work with cross-functional teams
  • Recent experience working at a manufacturing plant or similar industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics: process and instrumentation diagrams
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting one or more automation systems.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Pay Scale

$46.00 – $52.00 Per Hour
