Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Pediatric/Multi-Specialty Operating Room position in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and the ability to circulate independently and work in the PACU.
Details
- Small surgical department with 3 OR suites and 1 GI Endoscopy room
- Case types include General, Orthopedic, Gynecological, Obstetric, Endoscopic, Urology, Podiatry, and Pain Clinic procedures across all age groups
- Averages approximately 8–10 cases per day
- Must be able to circulate all cases independently and work in the PACU
- PreOp experience required as part of daily workflow
- Must be comfortable monitoring patients on a cardiac monitor
- EMR: Cerner (experience preferred)
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 36 hours per week
- Call requirement applies; details discussed during interview
- Weekend call rotation required
- Holiday call coverage is possible
Requirements
- Active ME or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
- Must be able to circulate all OR cases independently
- PreOp and PACU experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required or strongly preferred
- Full SSN required for consideration
- Valid Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge Nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- Flu vaccination required for clearance
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles South/Southwest of Bangor, ME to be eligible
- Must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity

- Supported by a Supervisor, Charge RN, Anesthesia, and Respiratory Therapy (available 24/7)
- Orientation length is dependent on experience
- Floating details discussed during interview
- Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available on site
- First-time travelers may be considered if the candidate has strong OR experience and Cerner proficiency
- All RTO requests require manager approval and must be disclosed upfront
- Candidates living 100+ miles North of Bangor, ME may be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval
