As a Medical Assistant (MA) at Community Health Northwest Florida, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing top-quality clinical care to our patients. Under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Clinical Director, Physician, and other healthcare providers, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and ensuring positive healthcare outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide clinical care to patients by assisting physicians, ensuring accurate documentation, and delivering patient education in line with HIPAA requirements.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the healthcare provider/physician to manage same-day appointments and prepare for scheduled patient visits.
  • Clinical Testing & Procedures: Perform EKGs, spirometry, blood glucose monitoring, CLIA waived tests, and more, ensuring proper documentation and patient safety.
  • Patient Education: Assist patients in understanding their health conditions and treatment plans while providing resources for ongoing care, referrals, and health education.
  • Recordkeeping & Data Entry: Document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), ensuring data is complete and accurate for Continued Quality Improvement (CQI) purposes.
  • Operational Support: Provide clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient running of the clinic, including specimen collection, lab work, and managing patient prescriptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Current certification appropriate to Florida state requirements for Medical Assistants
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of previous medical assistant experience
  • Experience in customer service, particularly in a healthcare setting

  • Proficiency in medical procedures, equipment, and patient care protocols
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare teams
