Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) opportunity is available at an elementary school in Claremont, NH, running from early January through mid-June 2026. This contract position offers flexibility, with full-time hours up to 37.5 per week or part-time options including 30 hours over four days or 22.5 hours across three days, depending on availability.
Work primarily takes place at Maple Ave Elementary, serving approximately 32 students in total. The caseload includes 22 students receiving direct services and 10 on consult status. The role supports children mainly in a safe-contained classroom environment focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with level 3 supports, as well as K-5 general education classrooms. Additional responsibilities include weekly visits to Disnard Elementary for students primarily in general education and Claremont Middle School to support one self-contained student, one general education student, and provide consultation for others.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy assistance to students with diverse needs in both specialized and general education settings
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate therapy goals into daily classroom activities
- Provide consultative support for students on an as-needed basis across multiple locations
- Track and document student progress and communicate with the therapy team
Qualifications:
- Current state certification as a COTA is required
- Experience working with children with ASD and general education populations preferred
- Ability to manage a varied caseload across multiple school sites
- Strong communication and organizational skills
