Drafting Engineer (Midwestern Division)

Ritz-Craft is currently accepting applications for a Drafting Engineering to work as an integral part of our Engineering Team in our residential division. Qualified applicants must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively and work well in a team environment for project collaboration and delivery on a cross functional team with responsibilities from conceptual to production. As a Drafting Engineering, you are essential in the coordination of project schematic designs, drawing sets, subsets, and shop fabrication drawings for project success, all the while bringing flair and critical thinking to help solve complex problems in today's custom modular home market. Desired skills

  • Preparation and development of 2D/3D shop drawings in accordance with Ritz-Craft standards.
  • Utilize Industry standards, Ritz-Craft design standards, and Ritz-Craft production standards for all HUD/MOD/COM projects assigned.
  • Work closely with 3rd party design and regulatory professionals for successful project collaboration.
  • Maintaining accurate records of drawings and details throughout projects lifecycle.
  • Lead interaction with others in a team environment: Project Management, Procurement, Product Development, Sales, Customers, and the production teams with clear skills and focus for project success wherever possible and applicable.
  • Preparation of material orders as required through scheduling within the model to share with Operations as needed and requested.
  • Offer design ideas and suggestions based on the client's needs and input where applicable.
  • Knowledge of current industry standards, software trends, and design applications and programs
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling as it relates to architectural building components within BIM and DfMA principles and best practices is a plus.


Education/Experience

  • CAD workflow understanding and application a must
  • 2 years minimum hands-on experience in CAD software applications and professional use
  • Recommended 2 years working experience in the modular industry with relevant knowledge of architectural and commercial building construction practices and offsite construction
  • Relevant knowledge of Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, Fabrication or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Strong communication skills and team focus
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company
  • Ability to drive projects to successful completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experienced software knowledge and use of Revit and AutoCAD together for cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process a plus
  • Knowledge of modular systems and architectural design a plus
  • BIM workflow understanding and application a plus
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling as it relates to architectural building components within BIM a plus
  • ERP workflow understanding a plus
  • Knowledge of Navisworks, BIM360 products, Lumion, Chief Architect, BricsCAD, Tekla, Procore, Solidworks, Sketchup, Rhino, Dynamo, and Grasshopper are also a plus
