Radiology Technician
Euola is hiring skilled Radiology Technicians to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services at the Federal Correctional Complex Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. This position involves performing a wide range of radiologic procedures, assisting clinical teams, and maintaining strict adherence to federal and institutional guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine radiologic studies on the inmate population as ordered by appropriate clinicians.
- Correctly positioning patients for radiographs and determining the level of radiation intensity to minimize radiation exposure.
- Using standard radiographic equipment, including but not limited to systems produced by GE Medical Systems and Kodak.
- Assisting in patient dismissal from the clinic upon completion of treatment, as well as ensuring follow-up care instructions are understood.
- Maintaining radiographic equipment through normal procedures, including cleaning and sterilizing, as well as minor troubleshooting or repairs. Any defective equipment should be properly reported for corrective action to be taken.
- Properly storing and maintaining adequate levels of supplies in assigned rooms. If, at any time, the incumbent notices any supplies running low in the supply room, he/she immediately notifies the person responsible so that supplies can be reordered.
- Ensuring instruments and unapproved items are not left in the clinic during non-patient care hours and that proper storage and security procedures are adhered to, as instructed.
- Properly processing and documenting radiologic results into the patient electronic medical record, as well as assisting in audits and reviews of records.
- Maintaining physical copies of radiologic results as needed and following proper filing and storage guidelines.
- Performing and maintaining all necessary procedures and documentation of the quality assurance program as described in the guidelines for penal institutions issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
- Serving as a technical consultant to clinicians and providing any necessary training to the mid-level practitioners and other clinical staff in the taking of X-rays.
- Completing a wide array of clerical and support duties, including the utilization of institutional-specific computer programs such as SENTRY.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Current, unrestricted license as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (American Heart
- Ability to pass a federal background check, drug screening, and health screening (including TB testing).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse inmate population and multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working in correctional or secure healthcare environments (Preferred)
- Proficiency with electronic health records and digital imaging systems.
